Matix Lumber – Constructing a Home Online

We are happy to announce the completion of our latest project with Matix Lumber – the launch of their newly built website. The studio had the pleasure of constructing an online platform for the family-owned business to showcase and house their all-encompassing services and top quality building materials supplied by industry-leading manufacturers.

Shortly after our work with developing the sub-brand identity for their newly launched Exteriors Division, we engaged in the revitalization of their online presence – a digital introduction of Winnipeg’s ultimate project destination. While the website communicates the company’s one-stop-shop operation by expanding on its comprehensive services and top supplier building materials, proper weight and attention were put on their work efforts and connection with Northern communities. A gallery of previous projects, a library of ready-to-move home plans, and a thoughtful mission statement composes the Serving The North focus of the business, to gracefully exhibit the meaningful friendships and their professional portfolio showcasing their engagement with community development projects.

The Matix Lumber signature palette of green, grey, and black comprise the colour scheme of the website, creating a minimal yet strong visual foundation. Photography of the exterior lumber yard and the building supply centre’s interior retail and office space are dispersed throughout the interior webpages. Visitors are greeted with header images to introduce each category with grandeur, highlighting the importance of each aspect of their all-encompassing business.

Developing Structure, Social Strategy, and a Blog

User-friendliness was the main intention behind the clean and modern design of the website. We implemented primary and secondary navigations to organize the two possible actions of the user: to directly inquire about services and products, and secondly, to browse and spark inspiration for one’s next project. Interior pages are structured within a drop-down menu to display all of the webpages available to view.

As part of their digital revival, the studio strategized and developed content to activate Matix Lumber’s social media in tandem with the construction of the website – to build excitement around the upcoming online platform and reflect their new aesthetic on all of their social channels.

Although the Matix Lumber narrative is given its own space in the ‘About Us’ and ‘Careers and Culture’ page, another layer of personality shines through in the blog platform to keep clientele and followers updated on the latest news, DIY projects, and featured products.
